A bill aimed at modifying the 'New House' program has been initiated to facilitate access for young people under 35 to housing. The project proposes reducing the minimum down payment from 15% to 5% for financing between 70,001 and 140,000 euros. Currently, the minimum down payment is 5% for loans up to 70,000 euros and 15% for larger amounts. The initiators argue that the housing supply has decreased by 18%, while prices have increased by over 15%, making access to housing more difficult.

In large cities, the average value of mortgage loans exceeds 70,000 euros, and the 15% down payment becomes a barrier for young people. The project has received favorable opinions from the Economic and Social Council and the Legislative Council and is supported by parliamentarians from various parties. It is now awaiting the opinion of the Government and other institutions before being debated in the Senate.
