The new bridge, part of the E87 international route, will link Ukraine, Romania, Bulgaria and Turkey, cutting the road to Isaccea by 80 km. Funding of 12.6 billion hryvnia, equivalent to €290 million, will be provided by international aid over three years. The project includes phases such as environmental studies and construction of access roads. The bridge will have four lanes and will be resistant to magnitude 9 earthquakes.
