On the occasion of Japan's National Day, Prime Minister Ilie Bolojan stated that Romania benefits from the contribution of over 400 Japanese companies, which help in the development and modernization of the country. He emphasized that, since March 2023, Romania and Japan are united by a Strategic Partnership, strengthening a friendship that has lasted for over a century. Trade exchanges exceeded 1 billion dollars in the first ten months of 2025, and Japan is the main destination for Romanian exports in Asia.
Bolojan mentioned joint projects, such as the M6 subway line, and highlighted opportunities in the fields of industry, energy, and technology. He also emphasized the importance of cooperation between the European Union, NATO, and Japan for maintaining international stability. The Prime Minister conveyed wishes of health and prosperity to Emperor Naruhito and the Japanese people.
