Two men have been placed in preventive detention after intentionally hitting a police car in Suceava County.

The prosecutors of the Prosecutor's Office attached to the High Court of Cassation and Justice have submitted a proposal for preventive detention for 30 days in the case of two defendants accused of serious acts of violence against a police officer. The incident occurred on July 23, 2025, in Suceava County, during an intervention to check a transport of timber without documents.

The first defendant, influenced by the second, intentionally directed the vehicle towards a police special vehicle, causing injury to the chief commissioner on duty. The actions of the two aimed to prevent the detection of a crime related to the illegal transport of timber.

The case prosecutor has formulated the proposal for preventive detention, which was accepted by the judge of rights and liberties at the Bucharest Tribunal.
