Environment Minister Diana Buzoianu said that the Praid Saltworks cannot be saved, warning that the collapse of the ceiling is imminent. She stressed that the authorities had waited for the disaster to happen instead of intervening. The 2022 floods have been aggravated by blockages caused by beaver activity, and the solutions proposed by the state have proved ineffective. The economy minister, Radu Miruță, confirmed that the mine could become a lake, and Salrom's management has been asked to resign for poor management of the situation.
