The president of PNL, Ilie Bolojan, explained that he did not vote in support of the government proposed by Eugen Tomac, arguing that the current political formula would function as a "screen" that allows PSD to avoid directly assuming responsibility for the government.

He stated that, although the social democrats contributed to the triggering of the political crisis by supporting a motion of censure, they did not subsequently assume the role of proposing a clear solution for forming a majority. Bolojan also stated that such a government would represent a form of indirect participation in the act of governance, without real political responsibility, which he considers to be incorrect both morally and institutionally. At the same time, the liberal leader emphasized that the government program is not finalized and that the lack of explicit support from the parties would hinder the functioning of the executive.
