Argeș: A container with plastic waste came loose from the platform and struck a car. Three people were taken to the hospital

A container carrying plastic waste came loose on Saturday from the platform transporting it and hit a car at the entrance to the municipality of Curtea de Argeș, Argeș County. Three people were injured in the accident and taken to hospital. Road traffic is stopped on DN 73C, and authorities have established detours.

According to the Infotraffic Centre of the Romanian Police General Inspectorate, the incident occurred after the container came loose from the platform and hit the car travelling along the road. Initial information provided by the Argeș Emergency Situations Inspectorate indicates that the container was carrying plastic waste.

To ease traffic flow, traffic has also been diverted onto the A1 Motorway from kilometre 120 toward DN 7, in the Pitești–Râmnicu Vâlcea direction. Emergency crews are conducting checks at the accident site and working to clear the roadway.

Traffic on DN 73C and on the Pitești–Curtea de Argeș section of the A1 was expected to resume after 09:30. The exact causes of the container coming loose are yet to be established.
