The Minister of Investments and European Projects, Dragoș Pîslaru, stated that the adoption of a new salary law is crucial to address inequalities in administration and to meet the commitments made under the PNRR. He emphasized that, although the budget deficit would not support the immediate application of this law, it is essential to establish an adequate fiscal space for personnel expenses, correlated with GDP growth. Pîslaru mentioned that the project will soon be debated by the Ministry of Labor, after consultations with occupational families and the Ministry of Finance.

He also highlighted the importance of a realistic project, comparing it to an initiative from 2017 that was deemed unfeasible. The Minister underscored the support of the World Bank for this endeavor and expressed confidence that the new project will bring predictability and equity to public administration in Romania.
