A physiotherapist from Oradea has been detained for sexual assaults on four children with special needs.

A 52-year-old physiotherapist from Oradea has been detained following a criminal investigation for sexual assaults on four children with special needs, the acts taking place during therapy sessions. Representatives of the center where he worked for 18 years claim that they had not received any previous complaints against him, although some parents consider him a savior, while others have begun to suspect abuse.

The physiotherapy activities were optional, and parents were encouraged to attend the sessions. The president of the foundation stated that he terminated the collaboration with the man as soon as suspicions arose. Investigators are now analyzing footage from surveillance cameras to establish the exact circumstances of the incidents. Prosecutors will soon decide whether to request the preventive arrest of the physiotherapist.
