This growth was driven by the licensing of a 135 MW photovoltaic park in Oltenia. Additionally, Romania has nearly 3,300 MW installed at prosumers, and estimates suggest that the cumulative power could exceed 10,000 MW by 2030. In 2025, the highest solar energy production in history was recorded, at 1,866 MW. Furthermore, new generation capacities have increased significantly, with 1,836 MW added in the first 11 months of 2025. Future projects, including gas plants and hydropower plants, will contribute to the development of the energy system, many of which are funded by EU funds.
