A 72-year-old pastor is being investigated for rape and sexual assault of a 15-year-old girl, having been placed under judicial control after the proposal for preventive arrest was rejected.

A 72-year-old man, a Pentecostal pastor, is being investigated by prosecutors from the Prosecutor's Office next to the Bucharest Tribunal for rape and sexual assault against a 15-year-old girl. During the summer of 2021 and the autumn of 2022, he allegedly engaged in sexual acts with the minor, taking advantage of her vulnerability. These acts were presented as having a spiritual purpose, taking place during confession sessions without other people present.

Although he was initially detained, the judge rejected the proposal for preventive arrest, ordering judicial control for 60 days. The investigation continues, being coordinated by prosecutors specialized in sexual abuse against minors.
