The Ministry of Foreign Affairs announced that, until Sunday evening, over 1,500 Romanian citizens have safely returned to the country from states affected by the conflict in the Middle East, through evacuation and assisted repatriation flights. Additionally, approximately 1,000 Romanians have left the region on commercial flights. Minister Oana Ţoiu emphasized that the situation remains serious, with about 12,500 Romanians still in the area, of which 2,500 have requested assistance for repatriation. The Ministry continues evacuation efforts, prioritizing vulnerable categories, such as children and individuals with medical emergencies. The Crisis Cell of the Ministry maintains contact with affected citizens and collaborates with local authorities to ensure the safety of Romanians. The Ministry reiterates the importance of registering on the econsulat.ro platform to facilitate consular assistance.
