Two outbreaks of sheep pox have been reported in Olt county, affecting seven non-commercial holdings. The virus has been confirmed in the localities of Tufeni and Crîmpoia, where around 3,000 sheep and goats are subject to slaughter. The authorities have established protection and surveillance zones and restrictions have been imposed on the movement of people and animals. Veterinary teams are carrying out epidemiological investigations to control the outbreaks.
