Ludovic Orban rejects the option of Eugen Tomac as prime minister: "He would be a surrogate prime minister of the PSD"

Former Prime Minister Ludovic Orban criticized the possibility that President Nicușor Dan would appoint Eugen Tomac as Prime Minister, arguing that he would depend exclusively on the support of the PSD to gain parliamentary backing. In an intervention on Digi24, Orban stated that Tomac would be "a surrogate prime minister of the PSD" and reproached the head of state for delaying the appointment of a new prime minister, a month after the government fell through a vote of no confidence. The former liberal leader emphasized that a prime minister must have solid political support and authority within a strong party to govern effectively.
