The National Office for Gambling (ONJN) has announced the launch of the Public Register of Gaming Devices, a digital platform that ensures total transparency in the gambling sector in Romania. It allows the public access to detailed information about each authorized gaming device, including through unique QR codes, facilitating the verification of licenses and the status of the machines. The register, accessible at registru.onjn.gov.ro, includes an interactive map and filtering functionalities by county, locality, or operator.
ONJN developed this application with minimal resources in just five months, under the leadership of President Vlad-Cristian Soare. The register will help combat the black market, and from February 2026, all gaming machines will be required to display QR codes and be equipped with geolocation systems. Soare emphasized the importance of this system in consumer protection and strict market regulation, mentioning that ONJN will continue to collaborate with authorities to ensure transparency and accountability in the field.
