An 84-year-old man from Suceava committed suicide by setting fire to his house due to depression and abandonment by his daughters.

The man, who lived alone and had health problems, resorted to suicide by self-burning, unhappy at the lack of contact with his daughters who had gone abroad. Before setting fire to his home, the elderly man had shown suicidal intentions and used a homemade weapon to inflict a gunshot wound, confirming his state of despair. Police determined that there were no indications of further offenses.
