Deputy Prime Minister Oana Gheorghiu responded to the attacks from the mayor of Craiova, Lia Olguța Vasilescu, who questioned her professional experience in the context of the intention to list some state companies on the stock exchange.

During a PSD meeting, Vasilescu stated that Gheorghiu has not led "even a flock of turkeys" and insinuated that she has benefited from donations for children with cancer. Gheorghiu stated that she does not wish to stoop to such a low level in political discourse and emphasized her achievements, including the construction of a hospital. She accused Vasilescu of desperation in the face of reforms that could affect personal interests. Gheorghiu claimed that the negative reactions are the result of fears related to the loss of benefits accumulated over the last 35 years.
