DIICOT has seized 184 properties and 14 plots of land in the Nordis case

DIICOT prosecutors placed 184 properties and 14 plots of land owned by companies under investigation in the Nordis Case under a precautionary seizure order on October 19, 2026. The assets are valued at approximately 12 million euros, according to official notarial valuation grids, while the measure was imposed up to the amount of the reported damage, estimated at more than 58 million euros.

The seized assets include 155 apartments, eight parking spaces, four commercial units, a basement, two storage units and 14 plots of land. The properties are unfinished, according to DIICOT.

The measure follows extensions of the criminal investigation into fraud with particularly serious consequences, ordered on October 10, 2025, and August 18, 2026. During this period, prosecutors received 363 new criminal complaints filed by individuals and legal entities who consider themselves victims.

The investigation concerns offenses including the establishment of an organized criminal group, embezzlement, money laundering, tax evasion and illegally obtaining budget refunds. Eleven people have been detained in the case, including former lawmaker Laura Vicol and her husband, businessman Vladimir Ciorbă. In October 2025, the number of victims had reached 850.
