The Presidential Administration will charter a private Dassault Falcon 8X aircraft from Luxembourg-based company Global Jet for President Nicusor Dan’s trip to New York, where he will attend the United Nations General Assembly in September. The president’s national address to the plenary is scheduled for September 23.
The information was published by BoardingPass, a portal specializing in aviation. The cost of chartering the aircraft is not yet known. At the beginning of 2026, Țiriac Air received 200,000 euros for a Bombardier Global 5000 aircraft used for a trip by Nicusor Dan to the United States.
The Dassault Falcon 8X that will be used for the flight to New York was previously chartered by the Presidential Administration during Klaus Iohannis’s term in office, but for flights within Europe and to the Middle East. The farthest destination it had reached until then was Reykjavik.
According to BoardingPass, Global Jet also provided transportation for Klaus Iohannis on trips outside Europe. For flights to New York, costs ranged from approximately 280,000 to 510,000 euros, depending on the route and the stops included. In 2024, such a trip cost 440,000 euros.
