President Nicușor Dan will participate today, February 19, in the first meeting of the Council for Peace, where he will be the only leader from the European Union to speak, in his capacity as an observer. Romania is represented at this level, while other EU states participate only through foreign ministers or advisors.
Nicușor Dan emphasized the importance of Romania's presence, stating that it helps clarify the bilateral relationship with the United States, in the context of misunderstandings that arose after the canceled elections. He also mentioned that Romania's participation is in the country's interest, considering the one billion dollar entry fee to become a member of the council led by American President Donald Trump.
