President Nicușor Dan announced, during a press conference in Warsaw, that he will not convene the Supreme Council of National Defense (CSAT) for now in the context of tensions in the Middle East, emphasizing that the current situation does not pose a direct threat to Romania. The priority of the Romanian authorities is the repatriation of Romanian citizens affected by the conflict, and approximately 5,000 Romanians who are not residents in the region are in contact with the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
Nicușor Dan specified that the most vulnerable are brought home at the state's expense, while others are assisted to return at their own expense. The authorities are monitoring the evolution of the security situation and maintaining coordination among the responsible institutions. Regarding Iran, the president criticized the regime for its support of terrorism and for destabilizing the region, stating that the Islamic Republic of Iran will not be mourned.
