Nicușor Dan, the newly sworn-in president, met with Finance Minister Tanczos Barna and European Projects Minister Marcel Boloș to discuss the budget deficit. He emphasized that the 2025 and 2026 budget discussions will start from the premise of not increasing taxes, setting a target of 7.5% of GDP for the 2025 deficit. Dan mentioned the need for budget adjustments of about 30 billion lei and wanted to know the status of discussions with the European Commission on the targets. He will also analyze the implementation of the National Recovery and Resilience Plan (NRRP).
