The government has implemented legislative changes that require employers to prevent violence and harassment in the workplace, including in contexts such as remote work or online interactions. These rules aim to ensure a confidential system for reporting harassment incidents, and employers have three months to comply. Fines for non-compliance with these rules can range between 3,500 and 7,000 lei. Harassment is defined as hostile behavior, including abusive remarks and intimidating gestures. Complaints must be analyzed by a mixed commission, and the new regulations also apply in public or private spaces used as workplaces. Harassment can also occur during team-building activities or on the way to and from the workplace.
