The traffic on DN1 and DN6, two of the busiest exit roads from the Capital, will be streamlined through the construction of two road overpasses, recently approved and fully financed from non-reimbursable European funds. The announcement was made by Irinel Ionel Scrioșteanu, Secretary of State in the Ministry of Transport.

The execution of the works is scheduled to begin in the first part of 2027, after the completion of the tenders. The overpass at Balotești, aimed at eliminating congestion at the intersection of DN1 with DJ101, will have three traffic levels, including an underground passage and a roundabout. The overpass at Bragadiru will take over the flow from DN6 and will include a roundabout and expanded infrastructure. The next steps include the approval of the indicators through a Government Decision and the launch of public tenders. These investments will increase traffic capacity and improve road safety.
