PNL MEP Siegfried Mureșan criticized Sorin Grindeanu for his statements in Brussels, where he discussed the problems of the governing Coalition and a supposed closeness between PNL and AUR.

Mureșan emphasized that Grindeanu, as the president of the Chamber of Deputies, should have spoken on behalf of the parliamentary majority, not his own party. He mentioned that Grindeanu's statements reflect a desire for instability, contrary to the calls for stability from the President of the European Parliament, Roberta Metsola. Mureșan also pointed out that the attempt at collaboration between PSD and AUR could influence the perception of European leaders. Grindeanu is in Brussels to discuss with European socialists about PSD's plans ahead of the internal consultation within the party. Metsola reaffirmed the need for stability and unity in discussions with Grindeanu.
