Dr. Călin Magheru, primary orthopedic physician and university assistant at the Faculty of Medicine and Pharmacy in Oradea, passed away on Thursday at the age of 51 due to a myocardial infarction. He was urgently brought to the County Hospital in Oradea, where he underwent complex medical interventions, including the use of ECMO equipment, but unfortunately, he could not be saved.
Dr. Carmen Pantiș, head of the ICU department, expressed the medical team's regret for the loss of their colleague. Before his death, his colleagues launched appeals on social media for blood donations, mobilizing the local community, which responded quickly, providing 40 units of blood in less than 24 hours. Călin Magheru was the son of former PRM senator Paul Magheru and was appreciated by students and colleagues for his professionalism and human character. His wife is a cardiologist, and his passing has left a huge void in the medical community in Oradea.
