On Tuesday evening, around 21:45, a fire broke out in an apartment in Bucharest, prompting the prompt intervention of the ISU Bucharest-Ilfov firefighters. The flames manifested inside the apartment, generating large smoke emissions in the building's staircase. The firefighters formed search and rescue teams to identify and evacuate people on the upper floors, successfully evacuating 18 individuals from the building.
Unfortunately, two individuals exposed to smoke required transportation to the hospital, and a 72-year-old anesthesiologist was found deceased. The injuries on his body suggest a possible crime, and investigators are considering this hypothesis. The firefighters intervened with 5 fire engines, one intervention and rescue vehicle for heights, the Special Rescue Detachment, one extraction vehicle, and 5 SMURD crews to manage the situation.
