A climber died in the hospital after an accident on a climbing route in Poiana Țapului. The police have opened a criminal case for manslaughter.

An alpinist died on Sunday morning at the Ploiești County Emergency Hospital after suffering a serious accident in the Poiana Țapului area.

The police in Prahova have opened a criminal case for manslaughter following the incident. The victim, who was trying to open a new climbing route, was reported missing on Saturday evening, and the Prahova Mountain Rescue team was alerted.

The alpinist was found fallen from a rocky wall, in a state of semi-consciousness, having multiple traumas. After first aid was administered, he was transported to the hospital, but unfortunately, he did not survive the medical intervention.

The police will investigate the circumstances of the accident, and the Prahova Mountain Rescue has issued a call to other mountain lovers to respect safety rules to prevent such tragedies.
