Ski rescue in Sibiu issued a warning on Friday regarding the dangerous conditions in the Făgăraș Mountains, where, due to snowfall and strong winds, significant wind slabs have formed at altitudes over 1,800 meters. Additionally, considerable spontaneous avalanches have been observed. Mountain rescuers recommend avoiding travel in high areas without adequate experience and proper equipment. Meteorologists have assessed a high risk of avalanches in the Făgăraș, Bucegi, and Țarcu-Godeanu Mountains. The snow layer varies, having 156 cm at Vârful Omu, 95 cm at Bâlea-Lac, and 60 cm at Țarcu, which underscores the seriousness of the situation.
