Dolj border police officers discovered 931 tablets and ampoules containing anabolic and doping substances in a car registered in Bulgaria, stopped on October 1, at around 10:00 p.m., on DN 56, near the toll station of the Calafat-Vidin Bridge. The car was traveling on the Bulgaria-Germany route and was driven by a 27-year-old Bulgarian citizen.
Following a thorough inspection, the substances were found in the trunk. According to the General Inspectorate of the Border Police, the products are included on the list of high-risk anabolic substances established under Law 104/2008.
The goods, valued at approximately 186,200 lei, were seized and stored in the Evidence Storage Room of the Dolj Territorial Border Police Service. The discovery was made during a routine check of a car that was about to leave Romania.
Border police officers are continuing their investigation into the unauthorized bringing into or taking out of the country, as well as the unauthorized import or export, of high-risk or particularly high-risk doping substances or products containing such substances. The act is punishable under the legislation in force.
