The National Museum of Romanian History (MNIR) announced the launch of a page dedicated to the restoration of the princely helmet from Coţofeneşti, providing the public access to information about the investigations and stages of the conservation process.

The page will be constantly updated, presenting details about the conservation status of the helmet and the interventions carried out. The first two stages have already been completed, including the imaging documentation of the helmet and non-invasive physicochemical analyses conducted in collaboration with specialists in the field. These investigations aimed to evaluate the materials, techniques used, and the conservation status of the piece.

The helmet, along with two gold bracelets, was stolen from a museum in the Netherlands but was recovered in April 2023. A third bracelet remains missing. The helmet was part of the exhibition Dacia – The Land of Gold and Silver, displayed last year in the Netherlands.
