Alexandru, the boy who disappeared from Sibiu, was found in a forest after 50 hours of searching.

The 5-year-old boy, Alexandru Zerestea, who disappeared in the area of Sebeșu de Jos, Sibiu County, was found alive on Wednesday, May 13, in a wooded area near the locality. After an extensive rescue operation that lasted over 50 hours, the child was discovered conscious, despite the difficult search conditions characterized by low temperatures and cold precipitation. Authorities mobilized over 450 people, including police officers, gendarmes, firefighters, mountain rescuers, volunteers, and military personnel, who searched vast areas, including hard-to-reach terrains.

Alexandru's disappearance prompted a rapid mobilization of the community, his father, Toma Zerestea, making a public appeal for help, expressing his hope of finding his son alive. After being found, Alexandru received medical care and will be taken by a Salvamont ambulance.
