Coach Mircea Lucescu is in critical condition and may undergo an invasive procedure on Tuesday for the installation of a mechanical cardiac support system (ECMO), according to representatives of the Emergency University Hospital in Bucharest. This evaluation comes after a meeting of the medical teams caring for him, which includes a Romanian cardiologist from France.

The Minister of Health, Alexandru Rogobete, confirmed that Lucescu is hospitalized in the ICU and that his condition has significantly worsened in the last 24-48 hours, experiencing severe arrhythmias that have not responded to treatment.

The former coach of the national football team was transferred to the Anesthesia and Intensive Care Unit on Sunday, and the doctors are closely monitoring his progress.
