Mircea Abrudean, the president of the Senate, commented on the summons of Prime Minister Ilie Bolojan to Parliament by the PSD, considering it a very bad signal for the stability of Romania. Abrudean emphasized that it is inappropriate for a party in the governing coalition to invite the prime minister to provide explanations for the partial withdrawal of American troops, a subject that is not within his competence. He mentioned that the prime minister will come to Parliament when his schedule allows, but communication on this subject can be effectively carried out through other channels, such as the Government or the Ministry of Defense.
Abrudean assured that the security of Romania does not depend on the relocation of the 800 American soldiers, highlighting NATO protection and European Union funding as essential factors for national security. He also emphasized the importance of correct communication to avoid unnecessary concerns and misinformation.
