Microsoft Romania has announced a wave of layoffs, with at least 138 employees expected to be made redundant by August 25, but the number could reach 180. The company is aiming to cut 10% of its local workforce, while local management is trying to limit layoffs to 8%. Unlike other companies in the sector, Microsoft offers higher financial compensation, including half pay for every year worked and extra bonuses for employees with children. Restructurings continue to affect the IT sector in Romania, with many companies announcing redundancies.
