Metrorex is carrying out works to replace the metro rail, transporting 850 tons of new rail.

Metrorex announced that during this period, a convoy of approximately 850 tons of new rail is being unloaded and transported to the locations where the track restoration works will take place. These rail replacement works will be carried out exclusively at night, so that the subway train schedule for passengers is not affected.

The quantity of supplied rail will support the restoration of the railway infrastructure, contributing to maintaining technical parameters and increasing safety in operation.

Periodic replacement of rail, which has superior technical characteristics, is an essential part of the preventive maintenance program, funded from Metrorex's own revenue budget. These works are intended to improve safety, extend the lifespan of the infrastructure, and increase the comfort of passengers.
