Seven counties are under a red warning for extreme heat, while a large part of the country is under an orange warning for rain and storms.

The National Meteorological Administration (ANM) has issued weather warnings for the period of August 6-9. Between August 6, 10:00 AM - August 7, 10:00 AM, seven counties (Maramureș, Satu Mare, Sălaj, Bihor, Arad, Timiș, and Caraș-Severin) are under a red heat warning, with maximum temperatures of 39-41 degrees.

The thermal discomfort will be heightened, and the night will be tropical, with minimums of 24-25 degrees. Additionally, between August 6, 12:00 PM and August 6, 11:00 PM, an orange code for atmospheric instability will be in effect, with strong gusts and torrential downpours in northern Moldova, Maramureș, and other areas. In Bucharest, the heat will persist, with temperatures of 35-36 degrees and a likelihood of showers and thunderstorms. The warnings will continue in the following days, with heightened thermal discomfort and atmospheric instability.
