In the Zărnești Mountains, 21 bison were found dead due to a massive parasitic infestation, confirmed by DSVSA Caraș-Severin. Samples showed the presence of Clostridium perfringens bacteria and streptococci. Although the loss is significant, prefect Ioan Dragomir emphasized that the population of approximately 300 bison remains stable, and the situation is being monitored by authorities. The carcasses have been neutralized to prevent attracting other wild animals.
