Over 300 students and teachers were evacuated from a school in Vrancea after a projectile was found nearby.

More than 300 students and teachers were evacuated on Friday from the school building in the village of Găgești, Bolotești commune, after a projectile was discovered about 60 meters from the educational unit. The Inspectorate for Emergency Situations (ISU) Vrancea reported that the evacuation affected 280 students and 25 teaching staff, who were picked up by parents or transported home by school minibuses.

At the scene, pyrotechnicians, firefighters, SMURD, police officers, and representatives of the Bolotești Volunteer Emergency Service intervened. The area was secured, and the pyrotechnic team is carrying out activities to manage the situation safely.

The projectile will be picked up and transported to a special depot. ISU Vrancea advises citizens not to touch the discovered munition and to notify the authorities by calling 112.
