Manfred Weber, the president of the European People's Party (EPP), expressed appreciation for Prime Minister Ilie Bolojan for his courage to continue his mandate in the context of global challenges, such as the war in Ukraine and energy pressures.
Weber emphasized the importance of responsible governance that puts citizens first, and highlighted the EPP's priorities, such as reducing spending and modernizing public institutions. He mentioned that Bolojan has delivered results on these priorities and that he has the support of European partners to strengthen Romania.
In contrast, Weber criticized the Social Democratic Party (PSD) for deviating from pro-European commitments, warning that opposition to necessary measures could severely affect economic stability and Romania's access to European funds. Weber concluded that Bolojan has chosen the difficult but correct path, ensuring the stability of the government in complicated times.
