The police in Prahova detained a 54-year-old man, suspected of having killed a dog that he took from a neighbor's yard, under the pretext that he would take care of it. The incident occurred on July 6, 2026, and the dog's corpse was discovered on July 8, hanging from a tree in a wooded area near the town of Urlați. The investigation was initiated after the Sache Vet Association published images of the animal, drawing attention to the cruelty towards animals. Representatives of the association emphasized that such acts of violence are becoming increasingly frequent and that society must not accept this reality. The police acted following the reports and detained the man for 24 hours, continuing the investigations to establish all the circumstances of the act.
