A man from Sibiu has been placed in preventive arrest for the murder of his mother, after he called an ambulance to report her death.

A 54-year-old man from Sibiu has been placed in preventive custody for 30 days, being accused of the murder of his 74-year-old mother. The incident occurred on October 17, when the man called the emergency service 112, claiming that his mother had suffered a crisis. At the scene, the ambulance crew discovered that the woman was deceased and showed signs of violence. The investigation established that the man acted intentionally, strangling his mother after repeatedly hitting her with blunt objects. The Prosecutor's Office next to the Sibiu Tribunal has initiated criminal proceedings, and the man was initially detained for 24 hours, later being placed in preventive custody. Investigations continue with the support of the Judicial Police.
