The police from the Hunedoara County Transport Police Service identified a 31-year-old man from Petroșani who placed a makeshift installation on the wall of the Turdaș tunnel, on the railway line 200, between Simeria and Orăștie, on Sunday, August 23, 2026.

This object was considered suspicious and led to the temporary closure of railway traffic in the area. The man stated that the installation represented an "artistic project." Given the impact on railway traffic safety, the police opened a criminal case for destruction or false signaling. Investigations are ongoing under the supervision of the Prosecutor's Office next to the Orăștie Court, and the police recommend that citizens avoid placing objects on railway infrastructure and report any suspicious objects. Railway traffic was resumed after nearly two hours of checks.
