A man from Brăila County was arrested after breaking into a house and stealing food

A man from Făurei, Brăila County, was placed in preventive custody for 30 days after allegedly entering a home and attempting to steal several food items. The incident took place on September 13, 2026, at around 12:30 p.m.

According to investigators, the suspect allegedly entered the property through a damaged fence, which was missing a concrete panel. He then allegedly broke the string securing the entrance door and entered the home.

The man allegedly took several food products from a refrigerator and put them in a bag, intending to steal them. The owner allegedly caught him in the act and managed to recover all the goods.

The report documenting the flagrante delicto was registered with the Prosecutor’s Office attached to the Făurei District Court. Prosecutors ordered the continuation of the criminal investigation and initiated criminal proceedings for aggravated theft.

The suspect was detained for 24 hours starting September 15, and the judge for rights and freedoms approved the prosecutor’s request for preventive detention.
