On Sunday, the police in Cluj County arrested a 56-year-old man from the Mihai Viteazu commune while he was transporting 6.8 kilograms of mercury, a substance prohibited for sale. The man intended to sell the mercury for the sum of 7,000 euros. The police intervention took place in the locality of Mihai Viteazu, around 10:00 AM, based on operational information. The quantity of mercury was confiscated for further investigation, and a criminal case was opened against the man for trafficking in toxic products or substances. Authorities continue the investigations in this case.
