A 62-year-old man from Arad has been arrested for physical and mental abuse of his two children, who were isolated and subjected to hard labor.

The man was charged with domestic violence and ill-treatment of minors and investigated for abuse over several years. The minors were physically and mentally abused, neglected in terms of food and education and prevented from attending school. They were also subjected to hard labor on a sheep farm and threatened with violence. The judge granted the request for a 30-day pre-trial detention and investigations are continuing to establish the full circumstances of the case.
