A 29-year-old man was arrested for trafficking minors, being accused of forcing a 17-year-old girl to prostitute herself in Craiova.

The DIICOT prosecutors in Craiova have detained a 29-year-old man, accused of trafficking minors, after he sexually exploited a 17-year-old girl since December 2024. The suspect promised the girl that he loved her, but forced her to prostitute herself in various locations in Craiova, collecting the usual money.

Investigators discovered that the victim was subjected to physical violence, being beaten and burned on her hands with hot objects when she refused to cooperate. The forensic examination confirmed the injuries suffered by the minor, which required medical care. The judge for rights and freedoms at the Dolj Tribunal ordered the preventive arrest of the defendant for 30 days, starting from May 8, 2026.
