A man was detained by DIICOT Satu Mare for introducing 38 kilograms of cannabis into the country.

DIICOT prosecutors from Satu Mare have detained a 31-year-old man, investigated for introducing risk drugs into the country and drug trafficking. He was caught in the act by border police from Petea while trying to bring 38 kilograms of cannabis into the country, hidden in the ceiling of the van he was driving.

The drugs, packaged in over 100 bags, were intended for consumption. On Monday, prosecutors notified the judge for rights and liberties at the Satu Mare Tribunal with a proposal for the preventive arrest of the defendant for 30 days. The action was carried out in collaboration with police from the Satu Mare Organized Crime Fighting Service and with the support of border police from the Satu Mare Border Police Service.
