Recently introduced in the CFR Călători network, the Alstom Coradia electric trains are facing maintenance management issues, according to an analysis conducted by the Pro Infrastructura Association. Although serious malfunctions in operation have decreased, trains frequently depart with significant delays from Bucharest North. Monitoring revealed that out of over 2,250 departures, more than 190 were delayed, accumulating nearly 5,000 minutes of waiting time. The most severe delays, exceeding one hour, were directly attributed to the trains, with waiting times between 64 and 136 minutes. The analysis suggests that maintenance and preparation issues for the trains are concentrated in Bucharest/Grivița, while departures from the opposite end of the route do not record similar delays. API calls on Alstom to start maintenance procedures earlier and requests clarifications regarding the causes of the delays. Although reliability remains within normal limits for a new fleet, API emphasizes that maintenance should not affect the comfort of passengers.
