The Ministry of Foreign Affairs announces that 3,000 Romanians are requesting assistance for repatriation, while 16,000 citizens are being monitored in the region.

The spokesperson of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Andrei Ţărnea, stated that approximately 3,000 Romanian citizens have requested assistance for repatriation from the Middle East, where the security situation is extremely volatile. Airstrikes have continued in various countries in the region, and airspaces are either completely closed or operating under temporary restrictions. Romania is directly affected, having a significant number of citizens and residents in these states.

The Minister of Foreign Affairs, Oana Ţoiu, shortened a working visit in Warsaw to address the current crisis, holding talks with counterparts from the affected countries. Recently, 307 Romanians were repatriated from Israel, and the Ministry continues to receive requests for assistance. Difficulties in contacting the consulates persist due to the high number of calls. Dubai and Abu Dhabi are the most affected by air traffic disruptions, and consular actions are underway to support Romanian citizens left in difficulty.
